For contractors & facility teams

Demolition and enabling work that gets buildings ready for what’s next.

Many projects need something cleared, opened or prepared before the main installation can begin. New Mecca handles defined demolition and enabling scopes for renovation, restoration, equipment installation and redevelopment, with a clear handoff to the following trades.

01

What enabling work means here

Enabling work is the early, preparatory scope a general contractor, mechanical contractor or facility team needs done before the main installation.

  • Interior strip-outs of offices, production areas, warehouses and tenant spaces
  • Equipment and line removal after licensed disconnects
  • Equipment pad and selective concrete removal for new layouts or openings
  • Mechanical-room demolition of decommissioned items within the agreed scope
  • Trade access openings in walls, ceilings or floors after utilities are disconnected by licensed trades
  • Selective removal at loading docks ahead of the owner’s or GC’s new dock work
  • Framing and drywall hanging to close openings only when included in the project scope

02

Why project teams bring New Mecca in

One demolition subcontractor can carry the agreed removal, debris handling and protection scope through a defined handoff. Estimates identify what comes out, what stays, who disconnects, any cutting or scanning partner, and who patches or installs next. Schedule windows and site procedures are confirmed with the project lead.

03

Typical buyers

Plant managers and facilities directors, industrial and commercial general contractors, mechanical and electrical contractors, equipment installers, and property owners preparing a building for renovation or redevelopment.

04

How the project runs

The team reviews plans, equipment lists or marked-up photos, disconnect status and target dates; discusses access, protection, dust and debris routing and site requirements; confirms a written scope with inclusions, exclusions and handoff conditions; performs removal to the agreed limits; and hands the area to the next trade as defined in the estimate.

05

Common questions

Questions we hear.

Do you bid as a subcontractor to general contractors?+

Yes. Send drawings, the demolition plan or ITB, and New Mecca will review the opportunity and prepare a written scope when it fits.

What is included in enabling work?+

It depends on the project. Scopes can include strip-outs, equipment and pad removal, selective concrete removal, mechanical-room demolition and access openings for other trades.

Do you handle utility disconnects?+

No. Licensed electrical, plumbing and mechanical trades make the disconnects. Work begins after the affected area is confirmed safe.

Can you work during a plant shutdown or after hours?+

Shutdown and off-hours schedules can be reviewed during estimating. Include the requested window and facility requirements with the project details.

What about asbestos or other regulated materials?+

Qualified specialists handle required regulated-material work before affected demolition proceeds. New Mecca does not perform abatement.
