Commercial & industrial
Equipment removal, pad removal and selective concrete removal.
New equipment cannot go in until old equipment, pads and concrete are out of the way. New Mecca clears that path for plant managers, facilities teams, industrial general contractors, mechanical contractors and equipment installers, with removal limits agreed in writing and the area left ready for the next crew.
01
Equipment and line removal
After licensed trades or the facility’s authorized team have disconnected and locked out power, gas, air and water, New Mecca can remove decommissioned items to the agreed scope. Heavy rigging is handled by the owner’s or GC’s rigger when required.
- Production equipment, conveyors and line components
- Racking, mezzanine-supported storage and support steel
- Abandoned tanks, ductwork, piping supports and platforms
- Guarding, curbs and anchors left behind after a move
- Scrap separation and salvage handling where agreed
02
Equipment pad removal
Old machine and housekeeping pads can obstruct a new layout. New Mecca can break out and remove pads, anchor bolts and grout, with the area left ready for a patch, new pad or installer. Saw-cutting for clean edges is coordinated with a qualified concrete-cutting partner.
03
Selective concrete removal
Some projects call for part of a slab to be removed for a new layout, opening or damaged area. Limits are marked and agreed first; scanning for embedded conduit or reinforcement is arranged through a qualified provider before cutting; nearby slab, equipment and finishes are protected; and debris is removed to the agreed handoff. Patch-back is by others unless included in the estimate.
04
Working inside active facilities
For projects near ongoing operations, the work zone, barricades, dust and noise controls, debris routing and access windows are reviewed with the facility contact. Site orientation and permit procedures are confirmed before mobilization. Silica-generating work is planned with appropriate dust controls.
05
What helps scope the work
Send an equipment list or marked-up plan, disconnect status, pad dimensions or as-builts if available, access and loading details, working windows and the next installation or construction date. New Mecca serves commercial and industrial sites across Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Washington counties; select Walworth County projects are reviewed by fit. General liability insured; certificates available on request.
Common questions
Questions we hear.
Do you disconnect equipment before removing it?+
No. Disconnects and lockout are done by licensed electrical, plumbing and mechanical trades, or the facility’s authorized team. New Mecca starts after the item is confirmed safe.
Can you remove a concrete pad without damaging the surrounding floor?+
Selective removal is planned to protect the surrounding slab. Limits are marked first, and saw-cutting is coordinated where the scope requires it. Site conditions affect the method.
Do you cut concrete yourselves?+
Saw-cutting, core drilling and scanning are coordinated with qualified partners. New Mecca handles the agreed breakout, removal and cleanup scope.
Can you work while a plant is running?+
Projects near operating areas are reviewed with the facility contact for a defined work zone, barricades, dust controls and access windows.
Who pours the new pad or patch?+
The GC’s concrete contractor or equipment installer typically handles patching and new pours unless those items are specifically included in the estimate.
